HOW TO MAKE A CORK HORSE

Steps

Use the cork to form the horse's body. Make a split with a sharp craft knife in one end, ready for the head.

Carefully draw a horse's head and neck in profile on the cardboard. The neck part is important, as this is what you'll slide into the slit made in the cork body. Add as much horsey detail as you like. Cut out the horse head and neck shape.
    • The horse head and neck shape should be drawn proportional to the size of the cork you're using. Don't make it too large or the horse will be top heavy and may fall over.

Dab some glue onto the end of the neck portion of the head and neck shape. Slide the neck portion into the slit made earlier in the cork. Allow to set.

Use the four toothpicks to form the legs. Push them into the cork body, taking care to get them nicely balanced so your horse stands up straight.

Cut some lengths of yarn for the mane and tail. Glue them onto the horse's top neck area to form a mane. Glue the other pieces at the rear end to form the tail. Allow to dry. The cork horse is now complete.
